William Gálvez. O., is a classically trained painter, with Renaissance overtones, who has managed to float into the twentieth century.

At the age of fourteen he was accepted to the Conservatorio de Bellas Artes, one of the most prestigious Art Academies in Colombia. Then, inevitably, he turned to the United States, where his reputation had preceded him.

          In the last few years, Gálvez has given full play to his mastery of classic realism, which he sees as truth and beauty. His works of Art have a jewel-like quality seldom seem in painting today. He is unashamed of his prodigious technical skills, in fact, he flaunts it, almost daring the viewer not to become involved in the richness, luminosity, and minute details of his trompe-l’ oeil style.

          Recently Gálvez was invited, and has accepted to become a member of the acclaimed International Guild of Realism. Appreciation in value has been the rule for Gálvez’s paintings and, his reputation continues to flourish in the discriminating world of Art, will remain the case …

Artist Statement

I paint because I have the urge to express my feelings, intuitions, emotions and perceptions, in a way that is understood at first sight. Painting is a very special part of my life, I have been around ART since birth. My Father, my brother, and two sisters have been/are full flesh artists.

My ART continues to evolve around the beauty that I find everywhere. Although I am artistically classic, I do like to explore with several approaches, but reinvesting in the tradition of realism. Color and contrast are very important to me, they give me the volume that am looking for. I breath, think, dream, digest and live ART. I want to share my passion for ART with everyone by creating the very best that I can offer …
